PROPOSITION: Bring Spider-Men to the screen
WHAT: In 2012, Marvel published Spider-Men, a five-part comics story in which a dimensional disturbance allows Peter Parker from the main continuity Marvel Universe to visit the Ultimate Marvel Universe, in which Peter Parker has died and Miles Morales is now Spider-Man.
WHY: It’s an amazing premise with lots of potential and the groundwork to achieve it has already, though unintentionally, been established.
HOW: In the Ultimate Marvel (comics) Universe, Peter Parker is shot and besieged by a team of his foes and dies putting a stop to them. Bringing Spider-Men to the big screen would require one cinematic Peter Parker to die.
With one Peter Parker being out of the way, we can allow for the spotlight to turn to Miles Morales, who becomes Spider-Man in his place.
After successfully setting up Miles Morales in his own rite, we bring in the Peter Parker from another universe to and Spider-Men kicks into gear:
WHY: Why go through the trouble to make a Spider-Men movie?
-Fans would get to see Spider-Men on film, taken in perhaps a new, original direction
-Tobey Maguire’s turn as Spider-Man would come to an end in peak and dignified form
-Miles Morales would get a turn at being the web-slinger, whilst also representing minorities within the superhero realm
-Studios could make money
…so, basically, everyone benefits from the endeavor.
Of course, this is all wishful thinking and conjecture, and would require some streamlining, but I’d like to see it happen.
What do you think?
That got kicked.
The guy Captain America kicked.
The guy Captain America kicked OFF THE BOAT.
LITERALLY off the boat.
The guy whose lower body KLANGED against the railing when Captain America LITERALLY kicked him OFF the boat.
That guy’s fucking dead.
